Summary

Replace Field Contents by calculation simply toggles field contents

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

11.0v3

Operating system version

Mac OS X 10.6.4

Description of the issue

A script intended to reset the contents of a Number field to zero in all records simply toggles the contents between the current contents and zero, or zero and 1 each time it is run.

Steps to reproduce the problem

The script step is:-

Replace Field Contents [No dialog;Table name::Target Field;Table name::Target field = 0]

In my case the Target field is named "Sales Made Today" in both cases in the above example.

Expected result

The contents of the Target field ("Sales Made Today") should be set to the calculated value (zero, in my calculation).

Actual result

The contents of the Target field toggle between the current contents and zero, or zero and 1, each time the script is run.

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

No errors are reported.

Configuration information

I have temporarily changed the script step to use the "Current contents" rather than the "Calculated result", and this works as expected, depending on the contents of the active field when the script is run.

This is an unsatisfactory alternative, since I intend to hide the field in question from the user.

Workaround

None.
