      Summary

Save As PDF does not correctly handle foreign characters in some OpenType fonts

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      11.0v2

      Operating system version

      Mac OS X 10.6.4

      Description of the issue

Save As PDF does not correctly handle czech characters with some fonts. Reproducible using the font Myriad Pro in FileMaker Pro 11v2.

Originally reported by a client who is using FileMaker Pro Advanced 8.5.

      Steps to reproduce the problem

      - Open test file FAKTURY_testing.fp7 - name/pass is admin/admin (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5848233/SaveAsPDFproblem.zip)
      - Save/Send Records as PDF
      - Save to PDF using the Print dialog

      Expected result

The two PDF's should look the same

      Actual result

PDF created using Save As PDF does not contain Czech characters.

      Workaround

FMPA 8.5's only workaround is Print to PostScript and then distill using Acrobat Distiller.
Workaround that works with FM 11 is to print to PDF using the print dialog.
