FMI had FM12.0v4 released just a couple of hours ago. PDF-issues should be one of the resolved bugs!
I have updated to FM12.0v4, but this did not solve the problem. It is stil a problem with the pdf that I have created with the filemaker script save Records as PDF.
It can not be printed with Preview, it is only possible to print with adobe acrobat.
I follow your steps, i have a similar configuration / versions but on mine it works. Some questions :• Did you tried on many printers ?• With many layouts ?• On different machines ?
I know well my answer is not a solution but just to help investigate...
And to be shure our script step are the same i send you a screenshot.
Hello, during the weekend I found out that it is a font problem.
When I changed the fonts on the layout from Verdana to Arial it printed perfect.
I have not figured out which version of the Verdana font that is the problem, but for now I use Arial instead. I have Microsoft Office installed, and something got messed up during the 10.8.3. update.
Thank you for pointing me in other directions.
Check for duplicate or corrupted Verdana font suitcases. It's possible that removing a duplicate or replacing one that's damaged may elminate this issue for you.
We are having the same issue. Any PDFs created with Filemaker Pro 12.04 on 10.8.5 get Postscript errors when printing with Preview to Ricoh and Konica Minolta copy machines, but can print fine with Acrobat to the same copy machines. They print fine even with Preview on smaller laser and inkjet printers. Also, printing the same PDFs on a 10.7.4 computer prints fine with Preview to all printers and copy machines, so I'm thinking it has something to do with how Preview is reading something in the Filemaker-created PDF. Maybe Preview is more strict than Acrobat in how it reads the Postscript data in the PDF?
Note, the date of the original post here is more than 3 months old. Due to a bug in the forum software, threads 3 months or older no longer pop back up into recent items when a new comment is posted and thus, your post is much less likely to be seen. I suggest starting a new thread.
Are you using Macs?
This thread concerns save as PDF and you appear to just be printing directly to the printer. While there's a lot of overlap, they aren't likely to be the same issue as what you describe here.
The combination of Macs and Konica bizhub machines do not have a good track record with FileMaker. And the previous issues associated with these printers usually required a printer driver update to resolve.

This is one of many acknowledged bugs that can be found in the Known Bug List thread here in the Report an Issue section of the forum.

Thanks for the reply PhilModJunk. I'll start a new thread as you suggest.
We are using Macs on 10.8.5 and all problems refer to scripted creation of PDFs with Filemaker 12.04. Printing directly to the Konica or Ricoh copy machines works great; it's just the PDFs that are created by Filemaker that can't be printed from Preview so it appears that this is a separate issue.
Thank you for your help.
