Summary

Server uninstall on Windows destroys all IIS web sites, not just FileMaker's

Product

FileMaker Server

Version

9-11

Operating system version

Windows Server 2000, 2003

Description of the issue

Likely also on Server '08 as well, but not tested.

Installing FileMaker Server on a Windows Server box overwrites any existing "Default Web Site" entry with its own, of course.

If one chooses to add additional sites to that IIS instance after this, and then uninstalls FMS, the new sites are destroyed as well as FMS's "Default Web Site" changes.

Steps to reproduce the problem

- install FMS (9-11, perhaps prior as well)
- create an additional web site entry in IIS, with whatever port etc. settings you like
- uninstall FMS

Expected result

"Default Web Site" site is reverted to its original form, but new sites remain unaffected.

Actual result

Only one web site remains in IIS: the reverted "Default Web Site".
