Summary

Slow Script Debugger with Data Viewer on FileMaker Pro Advanced 12.0v1

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12.0v1

Operating system version

Mac OS x 10.6.8

Description of the issue

When debugging scripts using the Script Debugger in FileMaker Pro Advanced 12.0v1 with the Data Viewer showing there is a delay of around 10 seconds when using the F6 key to Step Into each step. When the Data Viewer is closed the debugging speed returns to normal acceptable speed.

There wasn't a similar delay under FileMaker Pro Advanced 11.0v4 working on the same files prior to conversion to FileMaker Pro v12.

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. launch FileMaker Pro Advanced v12.0v1 and open a hosted file

2. perform a script with the Script Debugger showing/Data Viewer showing and use press the Step Into button/F6 key to move between script steps.

3. After pressing F6 there is a noticable delay before the Step Into/F6 key can be pressed again and FileMaker Pro Advanced appears unresponsive. After a delay of around 10-15 seconds the Script Debugger becomes responsive again.

4. Hide the Data Viewer and the debugging speed returns to normal.

Expected result

No delay between after pressing the Step Into button/F6 key to move between script steps with the Data Viewer showing.

Actual result

10-15 second delay between after pressing the Step Into button/F6 key to move between script steps with the Data Viewer showing.

Workaround

Close the Data Viewer
