Summary

Switching from Layout Mode to Browse Mode Incomplete

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12

Operating system version

Mac OS 10.7.3

Description of the issue

In Layout Mode I use the quick keys to switch to Browse Mode.  The Inspector is still visible and the bottom left still reads, "Layout".  However, Data appears in the table as expected (this happens in table view).  When switching back to Layout Mode I am unable to format a date field.

I hadn't run across this before; I was working on date fields at the time, setting the format in the inspector.  The field is a date type.  The data was imported as a text (exported from MS Access as text).

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Import text data that is a data (mm/dd/yyyy)
2. Reformat as a date
3. Show data in Table View
4. Switch to Layout Mode
5. For date field in the Inspector (I wasn't able to)
6. Switch back to Browse Mode

Actual result

See screenshot

Workaround

Close the file and reopen.  Howe
