    Text date problem

    mplt

      Summary

      Text date problem

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      13v3

      Operating system version

      Windows 7 64 bits

      Description of the issue

I have a issue with a text field from MS-SQL using ODBC.
When I look at this field within the data viewer "MonthName(GetAsDate( dbo.PIPPROJECT3 Details::dateInText )) in a layout, the result is "?". As soon as I open the field (it's a drop-down calendar), the value show correctly "april". Removing the GetAsDate() doesn't change anything. If I look at the plain field, I always have "2013-04-30", no matter if I click the drop-down calendar or not. Looking in MS-SQL the text date is formated correctly "AAAA-MM-DD".

      Why?

      Expected result

      "april"

      Actual result

      "?"

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

      none

      Configuration information

The text date is drop-down calendar with no formating (as entering) and I can't change it.

      Workaround

      None

          Martin Pineault:

          Thank you for your post.

Was the database file created using a French OS?  If not, the date must be the same format as the date on the system where the file was created.

If you create a date field and enter 2013-04-30, does this display correctly?  If not, try different date formats to see what works.

Create a button that displays Get(CurrentDate).  This will show the date format.
