      Summary

Tiny hairline prints on partially outlined objects

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      FMPA 12.0v2

      Operating system version

      Mac OS X 10.7.4

      Description of the issue

At the bottom of a portal containing a column of numbers, I put a field that totals that column. To indicate it's the sum of the numbers directly above it, I format the total field with a 1-point line on the top of the field. No line at all on the left, right, or bottom. Looks just fine in Browse mode. Looks fine in Preview mode. Looks fine if I print to PDF. But when printing to actual paper, there's a thin hairline that shows up on the 3 supposedly lineless sides.

A comparable situation arose when I formatted fields and text objects to have lines on 2 and 3 sides.

      Steps to reproduce the problem

Just format it that way and print. Works every time.

      Expected result

No lines except where I specify that I want them.

      Actual result

      see above

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

      no error messages

      Configuration information

Behaved this way on 2 different laser printers, 1 color, the other B&W.

      Workaround

Workaround is straightforward. Don't format the field using FMP's native outlining command. Instead draw boxes or lines using the graphic tools.
