Tool tip calculation evaluates too much

Summary

Tool tip calculation evaluates too much

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12 & 13

Operating system version

Mac OS X 10.8.5

Description of the issue

The tool tip calculation appears to be over-evaluating.

To test, I have an object with a tool tip, the tool tip has a let statement in it's calculation that sets a global variable.

Let ([

  $$count = $$count + 1

] ;

$$count

)

So every time you hover over the object, it should increment by one. This works in FM 11... hover over it once and it says "1", hover over it again and it says "2" and so on.

In both 12 and 13, it seems to be stuck in recursion and gives me odd results. Sometimes 12 or 24, then goes up by 20 or so every time you hover over it again, but always an even number.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Create a tool tip on an object with the following

Let ([

  $$count = $$count + 1

] ;

$$count

)

and enter browse mode and hover over it.

Expected result

Each time you hover, it should increment by 1

Actual result

Each time you hover, the count jumps up sometimes 20+, sometimes more.
