Unable to issue SQL commands after connecting via ODBC

    SteveHarris_1

      Summary

Unable to issue SQL commands after connecting via ODBC

      Product

      FileMaker Pro

      Version

      11.0v3

      Operating system version

      Mac 10.7

      Description of the issue

      Using FileMaker Pro 11.0v3
      And the FileMaker ODBC driver
I cannot pass SQL commands to the FileMaker database either from Stata or from the command line.
I consistently get the following error

      e.g.
      DESCRIBE testTable
SQLPrepare = [FileMaker][FileMaker] FQL0001/(1:20): There is an error in the syntax of the query. (8310) SQLSTATE=42000

However if I issue the same command to a MySQL database from Stata or from the command line it works fine. This makes me think it is a FileMaker problem.
I have the feeling it is a problem with the way quotes are handled but no combination I have tried works.
      I'd appreciate your input

      Steps to reproduce the problem

Set up a system DSN to filemaker database
go to state (statistical package) or command line via iODBC
enter a simple SQL command e.g. DESC testTable

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

SQLPrepare = [FileMaker][FileMaker] FQL0001/(1:20): There is an error in the syntax of the query. (8310) SQLSTATE=42000

      Workaround

      None
