Usability bug: Cannot drag multiple fields in Manage Database
I just discovered in the FileMaker TechNet forum that, during my many years of using FileMaker, I have wasted amazing amounts of time dragging one field at a time to create a custom order in Manage Database. I am so accustomed to moving selected items/text/whatever using my mouse, it never occurred to me that FileMaker requires arrow keys to move multiple fields (Command+arrow on Mac, Control+arrow on Windows). Now that FileMaker 10's Manage Scripts supports dragging multiple scripts, the same technique should work in Manage Database. Also, following the example of Manage Scripts, Manage Database should Create new fields and Paste fields after the currently selected field, not at the of the list. -- Ward
I agree with you, but I think you'll be more likely to be heard if you report this in feedback or feature requests. I wouldn't call those bugs.
I used to drag fields around, but these days I'm a big fan of alphabetical order.
