I can confirm. In addition the portal lines are now displayed in black regardless of the chosen color and only the selection bar has the correct color.
I can also confirm. Running v3 on a Win 7 machine (tried both pro and ultimate)
I can confirm both of these, but also... in addition to this, scrolling the portal down then back up corrects the borders for the area which was scrolled out of view from the top only, well... there is still an apparent secondary border but the selected border (in my test case a red one) shows.
Ignoring the red, this is what it should be looking like as it currently does in 11...
Sorry, couldnt upload two images and didn't feel like merging them into 1 for a single post.
Yet another reason why moving to 12 is 'mission impossible'
SWS, I can't reproduce the issue with the boundary color. This image did not require scrolling the portal:
You might double check your "delineate" option in layout setup...
Forgot to say that I tested this in Windows XP...
This is under Windows 7 x64, forgot to include that.
On Mac OSX Mountain Lion, the problem doesnt appear, I dont have an XP machine to test it with at the moment though.
You can try the converted file used in the video, which is in the state of showing this anomoly here:
Edit: I used red to highlite it better, but what I really should have done was set the border colour to white in 12v3
Doing so, shows that the black line really isnt a figment of ones imagination :) and really does exist :)
The problem also occurs under Windows Vista. I can see in your Windows XP example that you have a black line in addition to a red line except for the outer frame of the portal.
Yep, I was only reporting that I could get a colored border as SWS was reporting that he couldn't get the border color to change at all unless he scrolled the portal.
Heres another interesting (but related) glitch.
I downloaded a fresh copy of seedcode's calendar demo for FM12, mouse over effects toggle this border on and off.
Thank you for the improved performance! That is good.
The problems with portal appearance are however bad.
Our portals are suffering terribly on windows machines from similar problems as mentioned here:
- On Win Server 2008 R2 Portal row borders (1px) are too thick.
- On all platforms the scrollbar line rendering is inconsistent with the portal row border!
- The bottom border of a portal appears more or less different to the rest of the portal borders - see image.
We have 2018 Portals in our solution! We would like not to have to unnecessarily tamper with them.
Looking forward to fm12.0v4

This problem is specifically related to the option, "Add borders between repititions in repeating fields." When this is depressed in the inspector, turned on, for a selected portal, it adds the border around each portal row. Not just a line between. I don't think this was ever an option for portals and was only intended for repeating fields. This is only an issue on Windows. The v3 updater is fine on the Mac.
This is a huge pain to go in and adjust this setting in all my portals. This does not seem to be an issue just with Classic. I have new layouts built on other themes and I see this.
Unselecting the "Borders between repetitions in repeating fields" does not work for me. Unselecting that option turns off the line completely. So its either no line or the extra heavy distorted line. If you have alternating row colors, I guess you can make this work for you.... but not really a viable option.
You're right, sorry. I specifically have a portal with no rules between the rows. Didn't think about, or test, when you do want the rule between. The other border options only effect the scroll bar and outer paremeter of the portal, not between each row.
