      Summary

we just installed  a new server, then outlook  and then  we in stalled file maker server 12

      Product

      FileMaker Server

      Version

      12

      Operating system version

sbs server 20111 standard with exchange.....

      Description of the issue

Will it run on 64 bit, but if you're doing web publishing you have to enable the SAPI filters? are we in for trouble?
FMS 10 Advanced is not certified for Windows Server 2008 Small Business Edition.  It is certified for Standard Edition only.  There is a 100 percent guaranteed conflick FREE. planning on running multiple services on the FMS machine.  That conflicts with best practices that recommend a dedicated machine for FMS especially for web publishing.  OTOH, you have several possible configurations for heavy web publishing including the all-in-one, the 1:2, the 2:1, and the each on own (3 machine).

What documentation do have need to have to get sever and work stations to work correctly///////

      Steps to reproduce the problem

not receiving emails; sever does not appear to be running; first time install
      .....

      Expected result

      Outlook should not be affected.

      Workaround

      Can't get anything to work............................

You mention two different versions of FileMaker in your post. And FileMaker 12 cannot host files created by FileMaker 10 until they are converted to FileMaker 12 format. Have they been converted? Can you access the sample file that comes with server?

Do you get any error messages?

Can you get the server admin console to open?

What do you see when you open the console and click Databases?

The issue with Server 10 and SBS is that sharepoint--an SBS feature can conflict with Server. SBS works with server 10 (Or so I understand) if you can remove (Disable?) sharepoint on those systems.

We have server 10 successfully operating on Winserver 2008--a 64 bit machine so I would expect server advanced 12 to also function successfully on a 64 bit system.
