Summary

When using containers for background images they are not printed in Filemaker 12

Product

FileMaker Pro

Version

12

Operating system version

OS X

Description of the issue

We store our common forms as PNG files in containers.  These images become the common background on the associated forms.  With Version 12, once the view is changed to preview for printing, the container image disappears and you get a white background.

Steps to reproduce the problem

Add a container field to a layout.  Stretch it to the full size of the layout and move it to the background.  Put an image in the container and print the layout.

Expected result

The container image should be in the background.

Actual result

The background is blank

Exact text of any error message(s) that appear

No errors

Configuration information

Clients  OS X (Lion and Snow Leopard).  Filemaker Pro (V12) and Filemaker Pro Advanced (V12)
Server  OS X (Snow Leopard) Filemaker Server (V12)

Workaround

Replace the container with a copy of the image on the layout.  While this is a workaround it raises many problems, particularly in that each client filemaker file must now have the correct images for their location, vs a common client pulling from unique databases.
