What size is the database that you are transfering? What version of iPhone do you have ? Here is a link about getting started with iTunes.
It might be a setting with iTunes. iTunes may be syncing your whole phone, instead of just transfering the database. The above link has information about iTune settings.
Hi, it's 642mb, iphone 5
Thank you for your posts.
I have just copied a 625MB file to an iPhone and iPod touch. The total time was a little over 1 minute. Since this is taking much longer for you, try the following:
1. Connect your iPhone to your desktop computer and move all of your database files off of your iPhone onto your desktop computer.
2. Delete FileMaker Go from your iPhone.
3. Download a fresh copy of FileMaker Go onto your iPhone.
4. Copy the database files back onto your iPhone.
If the slow copying still persists, remove FileMaker Go from your iPhone again, backup your iPhone, and Restore. The restore process will reinstall iOS onto your iPhone, Then, download a fresh copy of FileMaker Go and copy the database files onto your iPhone.
Keep me updated with any progress.
Hi, how do I backup my phone and restore, I have many notes and reminders and what about the apps I have payed for will I loose them as well. On Icloud I have notes selected but they don't appear on the IMac and on the Iphone settings, storage & backup, back up now it keeps timing out. Strange
Hi, I have backed up and restored my Iphone on Itunes and reinstalled Filemaker go and put my database back on. It still took 12 mins to load!!!. By restoring my previous settings has that just put it back to how it was?. The one thing I have noticed when this first went wrong was when I used to plug the phone in, Itunes and Iphoto would automaticly open on the IMac and it stopped when this went wrong, I have to open Itunes myself so is there a reason.
I don't think that has anything to do with it. Here is a link to setup itunes to auto open. http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_automatically_open_itunes_iphone_and_ipad
