Adjust column width in FileMaker Go Table View or List View

      Post

Is there a way to adjust the width of a column in table view or list view on the iPhone or iPad?

If not, have a look at the way Apple's Numbers for the iPad does this:

-- When you tap on the header row, a horizontal edit bar appears above the header row.

-- Tapping this bar selects the entire column beneath.

-- A || column-width adjustment icon appears to the far right of  the selected column.

-- Dragging this icon wil move the righthand column frame (line) to make the column narrower or wider.

-- Use of the separate edit bar avoids any conflict with sorting or other column actions

Finally, Numbers also supports drag and drop moving a column (or columns) with this same edit bar.  Since  FMG table and list views are similar to Numbers spreadsheet views, FMI and Apple should standardize these features and their implementation across both apps on the iPad and iPhone

          Dick Applebaum:

          Thank you for your post.

At this time, FileMaker Go does not have the ability to resize a table column/field width.  The example you provide is excellent.

Please enter this suggestion into our Feature Requests web form at:

          http://www.filemaker.com/company/contact/feature_request.html

These Feature Requests entries are monitored and read by our Development and Product Management departments.

I could copy your post and paste it into the web form for you, there are a few questions asked that only you can answer.

Although your post is easy to understand, please be sure to link to the screen shot as this would help Development and Product Management see and understand the concept.
