      Bug. 'zoom in' doesn't always

      Post

I have a layout that is (deliberately) wider (not taller) than the iPad landscape screen with more information available off to the right by swiping.

I have a script that opens a new window then Go To's the layout.

At this stage the iPad displays the layout in full, so it appears about half the height of the landscaped screen.

I then call Set Zoom Level [Zoom In] twice to get the left hand side of the layout to fill the iPad screen.

Now, unless I put a Pause (0.5 seconds) step before the call to zoom in, the zooming fails to happen.

One for the developers to fix for the next version

Thank you for your post, and I apologize for the late reply.

I am unable to replicate the problem.  This is what I did:

               1. I created a layout with a lot of information that extends far to the right.

               2. I created a script with the following commands:

Open Window [ Name: TSGal ; Style: Document ]
               Go to Layout [  "Layout #2" ]
Set Zoom Level [ Zoom In ]
Set Zoom Level [ Zoom In ]
Set Zoom Level [ Zoom In ]

               3. I created a rectangle button that executes this script.

               4. I executed this on my Desktop to make sure it works properly.

               5. I turned on Sharing -> FileMaker Network...

               6. I accessed the file using FileMaker Go 12.0v5 on an iPad 3.

               7. I tapped the button to execute the script, and the script works as intended.

Any other information you can provide to help me replicate the problem would be appreciated.

I was running the database on my iPad (2) and not connecting to a desktop.

So try copying the database to your iPad.

I'd guess that conencting to a desktop, the script runs on the desktop machine rather than the iPad and that may make a difference.

                   Thanks for the additonal information.

I have downloaded the file to an iPad 1, iPad 2, and iPad 3.  I ran the script several times under both landscape and portrait, and I'm still unable to replicate the issue.

Try creating a script with the five steps above.  If this works for you, then we can focus more on your script and find out exactly what it is doing prior to the zoom.
