      Title

      FMGo for OSX and Windows

      Post

When are FileMaker going to release FMGo for OS X and Windows desktops... That way the FM community can produce solutions that can run on all devices without the overhead of purchasing FMPro???

That would allow FM solutions to reach a much larger audience...

It would allow people to develop for free, but why would any company just give it all away for free? That would be a quick way for Filemaker Inc. to go out of business and then we would have no FileMaker products at all. surprise

I'm pretty sure that FM GO is given away for free for a very important reason--it helps drive up sales of FM PRo and FM Advanced.

Dude, you can't develop on FileMaker Go, it's a cut down product, only good use it has is for granting a free access portal to solutions already key'd in by FMPro or FMPro Advanced...  Have you used FMGo to develop?  It's like a CITRIX Receiver, only good for hosting files made by a real developer package.

Plus, the more people using FileMaker solutions will drive up sails, if access to solutions has a small overhead, then more solutions can propagate around the market place... Do I have to think of everything..?

A FileMaker solution is a much more viable product when 10,000 users don't have to fork out for FMPro.  Most users are not interested in developing solutions, they just want access to someone else's IP, if it was free to distribute and implement then FileMaker would make huge leaps in the market to become the number one weapon of choice to create mainstream databases cost effectivly.
