Title

Handling lost connections between Filemaker Server and Filemaker Go

Post

     Hello,

First off apologies for any thickery, I am a very filemaker novice who recently has just lost his virginity (it was very gentle)

I have my filemaker database hosted on filemaker server and connect to it with "filemaker go" on my ipad.

When I lose the connection (I do this artificially by shutting down the server),  "filemaker go" on the ipad then closes.

     I've got two questions:

     a) Is this expected behaviour (I had hoped that filemaker go would do something clever to allow data entry when offline and then sychronise when it was available)?

     b) Is the only way to handle the database going offline is to have a local copy of the database on the ipad and write an import script.

Just wanted to check that I wasn't being thick before writing more code :)

     Thanks Very Much Filemaker Gurus

     Mark
