The easiest way would be to create an export script that make a copy of the data you need to send and have it insert this into an email.
Here is the manual way.. http://www.filemaker.com/products/filemaker-go/for-ipad/help/1/save_send_data.html
Then you could create an import script that would already have everything already mapped out and just click import.
You could also have them upload the file via http or ftp.. http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11626/kw/ftp
I too thought the export script would work, but you cannot export container fields. FM GO will not export into an FM12 file format.
I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible for the user and want to avoid uploading files.
Thank you for your posts.
You can definitely export Container field data, including .fmp12 files. Create a button that executes the script step:
Export Field Contents. Specify the Container field, and for now, don't specify an output file. Save this to the layout, and then copy the file to FileMaker Go. Tap the button, and you will be prompted for the Name of the file exported with the option to either Email or Save. Click Save, and the file will be copied to your FileMaker Go work area.
Let me know if you continue to have difficulty.
FMGO can not export to a fmp12 file. As an alternative try this
1. Create a new file that contains just the fields you want to export
2. Create a scripts that finds the records you want to export, then call an external import script from the new file
3. The import script needs to import the records from the original file, then attach the new file to an email.
