Thank you for your post.
I am unable to replicate the problem on my iPhone and iPod touch. You should have the ability to get the pop up for Cut, Copy, Paste, and Replace...
Is this the only field where this occurs? Does your account read and write privileges? What version of iOS are you using? Are you using the latest update of FileMaker Go? Any other information you can provide may be helpful in narrowing down the possible cause.
TSGal, Thanks for quick response.
In this database and all previous version of this database, all my fields produce only the "Replace .." pop-up when text is selected in a field, no Cut, Copy, Paste option. Have now tested with different databases and the edit function works correctly with them, but not with this one solution.
My system: iOS 4.2.1, FM Go 1.1.2.
Account: Guest (or non-admin)
Privilege Set: Custom: Records: Create, Edit and Delete in All Tables.
Using FM Pro 11 Adv. I don't see how to set read and write privileges to an account?
Just saved the solution with Admin privilege [Full Access] and the editing functions works correctly, cut, copy and paste pop-up is shown. So it must have something to do with the custom privilege set.
I think this is problematic, yes? A custom privilege set should not disable iOS edit functionality, without being able to prevent it. So, only Full Access enables the iOS edit functionality?
If you have read only privileges, you should not have the ability to Cut or Paste; only Copy. I'm not sure what privilege setting only gives you the ability to Replace, so if you could let me know what previous privilege setting you have for that field/layout/etc., I'll try to replicate the problem here.
I don't see anywhere that my custom privilege set has the capability to set read and write. Here is an image of the custom privilege that I have set:From my Dropbox link to image:
