There are two ways to set this up: via a script using the insert from device script step or simply by tapping a container field on your layout and selecting the camera option.
Which did you use?
Hi again Phil. Thanks for the response.
I assumed that FM Go provided direct access thru standard container field functionality so I just tapped on the container field, was presented with several options, one of which was the iPad camera, and figured I could simply shoot the pic from there. I haven't looked into camera access via script.
Filemaker does provide direct access by tapping the container field. Have you tested one of the starter solutions, to verify the issue with another database. I haven't experienced any issues.
I just tried to access the iPad's camera from a container field in the Content Management starter solution as you suggested, S Chamblee, with the same results: a totally lifeless black screen with a non-functioning trigger button and a few just-as-lifeless text/icon options. I keep thinking that I must be missing something but both cameras work just dandy when accessed via the standard iOS system software.
Any additional suggestions would be helpful...
Yes, should have though of this earlier. iOS8 introduced new security settings.
1. Go to Settings
4. Turn on the Filemaker Go Switch to allow camera access.
Ta-da! We have working optics. Nicely done, S Chamblee, and thank you for the guidance.
