You are having problems with PDF created only on 1 iPad and the PDF has been tested on several other machines. If I understand your post correctly then I verify if the user is using a 3rd party app to create the PDF.
I have heard of some preview issue on macs using adobe instead of the preview app that come with the mac. I'm not really sure how apple handles pdfs being created on the iPad. You may also want to verify that all apps (The app that may be used to create the PDF) on your iPad is update.
Sorry I don't think I explained the PDF creation part.
When the database is sent to the mac mini, it is opened in Filemaker Pro Advanced, a script then runs to create the PDF. The PDF is created by Filemaker.
No PDF's are created on the iPads.

Since this issue only occurs on one iPad, try clearing out any memory conflicts be restarting the iPad. If this still fails, try reinstalling iOS.
