Pretty new to filemaker I know the fundementals but relationships give me a headache.

My hobby is cooking and I have designed a flat database for recipes, but what I would like is to create 2 tables the recipes one the other named ingredients.

Create a relationshipf between them which I think would be a one to many so that when I was entering a recipe in Browse mode  in the recipe table I could input the ingredient from that table.

Would it be possible to do this without a degree in computer science? I am using Filemaker 11.

      Many thanks for any replies.

I think you are in the wrong forum. This is the forum for FileMaker GO--the version of FileMaker you can load on an iPhone or iPad. Wink

To answer your question, look up "portal" in FileMaker help and learn how to add a portal to ingredients on your recipes layout. This gives you a window where you can see, add and edit many different ingredients for one recipe.
