I don't believe there is a way to limit the popup. You could not allow direct entry in browse mode and avoid thepopup altogether, but I don't think that is what you want. You could put a button on the field and run a script to perform an action on the field, but again, there is no way to 'only' allow the signature that I know of.
Thank you for your post.
"ChrisLikesPie" is correct (Thank you). At this time, FileMaker Go (edited: replaced Bento) can neither limit the pop-up nor automatically go into Capture Signature. I recommend that you enter this into our Feature Requests web form at:
The entries in this web form are monitored and read by Development and Product Management where each entry is discussed and considered for a future release. Although I could copy your post and paste it into the web form, there are a couple of questions asked that only you can answer.
At this time, Bento can neither limit...
Oops! A definite typo. I was on the Bento forum most of yesterday, so it was obviously still on my mind. I will correct it.
You could do a getastext(containerfield) and see if there is a filename in there and if so advise the user and delete it.
Go obviously creates a graphic/picture but what is the format and extension and does it include the name in the container field? The answer to these questions affects the first sentence.
So, test one of your signatures with this script:
set var $x to getastext(containerfield)
custom dialog $x (put that in the text field).
run the script and see what the variable is.
