Transfer FMP Go contacts to iPhone contacts?
For ease of retrieval, hoping to find a way to have my contacts from FMP Go appear in my home iPhone contacts. Is this possible?
Thank you for your post.
At this time, FileMaker Go does not have the ability to integrate with Contacts on the iPhone. Searching our plug-ins database, I found one plug-in that integrates with Address Book on the Mac (Contacts under Mac OS X 10.8.x). You can read more about this plug-in at:
Since plug-ins are unavailable in FileMaker Go, if you have FileMaker Pro on a Mac, then you may want to sync your Contacts from the iPhone to your Mac, use FileMaker Pro to access the data in Address Book, and then move that information into FileMaker Go.
Let me know if you need additional clarification.
If I just want to transfer my contacts from FMP11 directly to my iPhone, do I still need to purchase a plug-in?
Again, many thanks,
I've tried CSV and Excel files, and neither will open in Contacts. Also, I don't see any Import options into Contacts. It appears a plug-in is needed, or some other application that integrates with Contacts and imports a CSV, Excel, etc. file.
TSFalcon saw this post, and let me know there are several free utilities that take CSV files to vcard format. Doing a quick internet search for "CSV to vcard", the first two listings show:
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of listings. I have personally not used any of these products, but this should give you a good starting point.
So, FMP11 contacts are stored as CSV files?
No, FMP 11 databases are not stored as CSV files. You can export your data out of FMP to a CSV file.
