Now getting a new set of errors instead of the original:
"The Database Server is not available. To Edit server deployment, please start the Database Server first."
"Unable to start the database server. Please contact your system administrator for assistance."
I haven't resolved this problem, but I have noticed something weird, the FileMaker Server actually IS running. I can access the sample database from my laptop, but the admin console still refuses to start.
I did try copying the console to my laptop and editing the address so it connects to the server, I get the same error.
i have same situation, can anyone help this problem

Thank you for your posts, and I apologize for the late reply.
If the Database Server is running, it sounds like the Admin Console is not successfully accessing the server.
Are you running Admin Console on Windows Server 2003 or from another machine? If another machine, what OS is running?
Since Admin Console is a Java application, what version of Java is installed?
Do you have multiple Network cards installed? If so, try disconnecting all but the main one.
I had this problem too. Disabling all the network instances (VPN's) and maintaining only the main one (in my case the physical one) solve my problem, but now every time i start de admin console, it starts, but cannot connect with the server unless i disable all the other network instances again. im working on it...
