Can you store Mp4 movies on the server in container fields

      Your post

How can I store mp4 or QuickTime movies on a Filemaker Server 11 in container Fields using Windows as the server. When you insert a new record the movie located on the workstation that creates the record.  Is the a way to store the path only of a moive that is located on the server?

If so, can clients watch the movie?

Insert QuickTime only inserts a reference to the file into the container field. This will work as long as you set up the location where the movie files are stored correctly. The files need to be stored in a shared folder for which the users have at least read only access to it. The folder where this stored must be mapped and mounted in a manner that replicates the file path entered into the field. Since mac and windows systems end up with slightly different paths to the same shared directory, this can be an issue if you have both mac and windows users.
