Can't connect to server - help!

      Your post

I have FileMaker 13 Server installed on a Mac mini (that also has OS X Server installed).

I've not accessed FM Server recently & now when I open Safari or Chrome & enter https://localhost:16000 it just says "Safari can't connect to the server"

I also get nothing out of localhost:16001, localhost:16000/test

I can see FM Server processes in activity monitor.

Is there any way I can forcibly restart FM Server / get some life out of it? There seem to be no ways in other than the web browser & if that isn'e responsive .... ?!

           It's *really* frustrating ...

Try rebooting the machine. This should bring back the admin thing. What version of FMS13 are You running? I've heard that this bug was fixed by the latest patches...

                 Thank you for the post.

What version of Mac OS X Server?

Please note: Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks is a tested operating system, but Mavericks with the Server.app is not tested.

The following Terminal command will stop all the FileMaker Server processes:

                 sudo launchctl stop com.filemaker.fms

The following Terminal command will start all the FileMaker Server processes:

                 sudo launchctl start com.filemaker.fms

Please let me know if any of the above needs further clarification.

I had this problem forever .... the solution for me was this:

              Disable progressive backups

              Turn off the schedules

Make sure the progressive folder is empty (delete any files)

              Enable progressive backups

Use the full path name (including the / at the end)

              Good luck!
