I am having the same trouble today with a newly patched FileMaker 8.5v2. All my other computers can see the hosted files on the server.
Could you or tsTurtle be so kind as to foward to me a fix alluded to previously?
Could you send me the fix to losing the ability to see the server files after patching FileMaker Pro 8.5v1 to 8.5v2 running on a Mac?
Thanks to tsturtle, but we did get a solution back in January, and I will post it here:
Uninstall FileMaker 8.5v2. Set the date on your system clock to something before the Sept 08 Dday, like August 31, 2008.
Install FileMaker. Run the updater. That fixed it for us on a Mac with Leopard.
