database is write-protected and you will not be able to make changes - filemaker server 5.5

Your post

I am new to filemaker but need to add a database to our filemaker server 5.5. I know how to add the database, but once I try to open it after adding it, it says that the database is write protected, that no one can make changes, and then doesn't even show the database. It just comes up with a gray screen. When I re-host the original version of the database it works just fine, so I assume it must be the changes I made, but i didn't change anything related to permissions. The file is not set to read-only and the database is set to multi-user. If anyone has any idea how I could make this work I'd appreciate your help.
