      Exporting to MySQL

      Your post

I am trying to find information on how I would export a test table that contains a container object.  I'm hoping to get that container object into a MySQL BLOB column.  Is there a script to do this?

          Tim Hidalgo:

          Thank you for your post.

If you have a MySQL table set up as an external data source (ESS), binary blobs will not be mapped and are unavailable.  For all other data types, see Knowledge Base Article #6425 at:

          http://help.filemaker.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6425

However, if you use the xDBC driver, then you can have MySQL access the Container field in FileMaker Pro and put the container object into a MySQL blob.  For example, using JDBC, you would use ResultSet.getBinaryStream().

Let me know if you need additional clarification.

Just to clarify, the solution to this problem cannot be done through a filemaker script correct.  We will need to use something like the PHP Filemaker API?
