Filemaker Server 13 - restart Webserver

      Your post

           Hi Everyone,

i try to find out how to restart the Webserver-Part of the Filemaker 13 Server.

I want to restart the hosted sites after i changed the httpd.conf File in /Library/FileMaker Server/conf/

           So:

sudo launchctl stop com.filemaker.fms - is wrong (stops the Admin Console)

sudo apachectl stop - is also wrong (stops any other instance of Apache but not the one that i want)

           Any Tips?

           Greetings from Germany

           Sebastian

               Thank you for the post.

               "sudo launchctl stop com.filemaker.fms"

The above command will stop all FileMaker Server 13 processes, including the Web Server.

After all the process are stopped use "sudo launchctl start com.filemaker.fms" in Terminal to restart all the processes.

                 Hi TSFalcon,

if i stop via "sudo launchctl stop com.fileker.fms" i get "launchctl stop error: No such process"

Even after starting the process via "sudo launchctl start com.filemaker.fms" and then try to stop it again i get a "No such process"

I don't use Filemakers PHP but the one that comes with mavericks.

Whatever i do - the webserver keeps running...

                 Here some more System Infos:
                 Mac OS 10.9.4
                 Filemaker Server 13.0.2.295

                   Thank you for the reply.

I apologize because I made a typographical error in my original reply that was later corrected.

The correct syntax for Terminal follows:

                   sudo launchctl stop com.filemaker.fms

                   Try the following steps:

                   1. Close the FileMaker Server 13 Admin Console

                   2. Open Activity Monitor.app

                   3. View > All Processes

                   4. Search in the filter (top right) for "fm"

Note: At this point, the window should look similar to the screenshot below.

                   5. Open Terminal.app

                   6. Run the following command: sudo launchctl stop com.filemaker.fms

All the FileMaker Server 13 processes will stop, including those for the Web Server, and the Activity Monitor window should now show no processes in the filtered list.

Additionally, the update to FileMaker Server 13.0v3 is available here:

              Software Update: FileMaker Server 13.0v3

                     Hi TSFalcon,

i installed the update and restarted the machine. Now it works as expected.

                     Thanks
