Thank you for the post.
I am not able to replicate with the Content Management starter solution enabled for WebDirect.
If you upload the Content Management starter solution, enable the WebDirect privilege and view the start page, then does the paper clip icon display?
What type of image file did you use?
Anything else that might help me replicate?
Hi Flacon, I have sent a link to the external web address so you can see the end result.
In this instance the icon not showing is one of the built in file icons for 2014.
I will upload the content management starter solution now and try.
(screenshot shows the file with missing icon's settings in filemaker)
I have uploaded the Content Management starter solution and enabled web direct, it has the same problem, the nice looking paperclip icon appears when finding the database via Pro or GO, but not via WebDirect.
I have also tested on webdirect by accessing site using the local LAN IP and the same happens,
Is it likely that there is a problem with a port not opened to the server, or maybe that the server did not install properly?
Thank you for the reply and for testing.
Is this a single machine configuration or a two machine configuration? While I am still not able to replicate in my own testing besides your server, I found a similar report (not through the Forums) of this occurring in a two machine deployment.
Ports could be a factor. If possible, try temporarily disabling all firewalls, clearing the browser cache and loading the page again. Does this make a difference?
Additionally, here is the knowledge base article with the full list of ports used by FileMaker Server 14:
Keep me updated with any progress.
It is a two machine configuration yes.
I have tried disabling firewall on both machines and clearing browser cache with no luck.
It is strange that the default filemaker icon appears but any of the other built in or custom icons will not. Its beginning to feel like there is a issue with the original deployment so I guess I will have to make re-deploying my next step.
Thank you for the reply.
Testing is aware of an issue with custom icons not displaying on the launch page for WebDirect when using a two-machine configuration and the issue has been forwarded to Development for further review.
Additionally, I added your comments to the original report made to Testing and Development.
This issue appears to have been addressed in FileMaker Server 14.0.4.
Same problem here.
2 Machine deployment
Current Installed Version: 126.96.36.1992
The only icon that show on webd website is the standard FileMaker folde icon.
Thank you for your post.
I have confirmed this issue was addressed in FileMaker Server 14.0.4.
Did you redeploy after updating?
Are you using SSL? If so, what is the third party certificate being used?
Are the two machines Mac? Windows? or both? What version of the operating systems?
Any other information you can provide that replicates the issue would be helpful.
I just deployed a WebServer off our FileMaker server and I have this issue too.
On the WebDirect home page, all the icons are showing as broken, even the ones with the default FileMaker icon.
Server is Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise
WebServer is 2012 Datacenter
both are physical machines.
Since you are not using a certificate, I assume you are using http and not https. Correct?
Try accessing with both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Chrome? Does the issue occur for both browsers?
Are you using the domain name or IP Address when accessing via Web Direct?
Correct. We are not using a certificate
Broken icon when using http or https
also broken icon when using default icon, or a custom solution icon.
