It looks like Java 6 Standard, JRE is 5
Any ideas then on how to downgrade Java, or force FM9 to shut down so I can do the upgrade?
Thank you for your posts.
Launch Terminal (inside the Utilities folder) and enter the following commands:
To close the database files:
To stop FileMaker Server:
fmsadmin stop server
FileMaker Server 9 will run with Java 6 release 7, but not later. If you need to downgrade the Java, launch "Java Preferences" (inside your Utilities folder), and under the General tab, you can move your other Java versions around. For example, if you have J2SE 5.0 in the second position, you can drag it up to the first position. Do this for both the Applet and Application. If you are updating to FileMaker Server 10, then you do not have to worry about this limit.
Let me know if you continue to run into any difficulty.
I've followedd your recommendations here.. still having this issue after 9 months...

Thank you for your post.
Are you opening the Admin Console from the server or another machine? Try from a different machine. What update of Java 6 are you running?
