it is not the default Website that filemaker Server is using, it is the first website you see in your iis management console. Mostly it is the default website, yes, but when you have reconfigured the default to any other website, filemaker still tries to install itself to the first website in the list.
So keep in mind - the first website is for Filemaker, whatever (or empty) you have configured as host header.
Greetings from germany
so can I use more than one folder(default site or first website) so I can have 2 or 3 sites connecting to 2 or 3 Fm databases? I was told i need to copt the php ini and a fm folder into the other sites folders. Does this make sense to you? If so can you elaborate a little more as I do not understand which other fm folders to copy
one more thing. do the oher websites need to be in the form......http://www.server.com/site1.....http://www.serve.com/site2.......http://www.server.com/site3....
Iam trying to have it sot that I have.....http://www.site1.com.....http://www.site2.com.......http://www.site3.com
unfortunately i am not familiar with php-filemaker, my world is asp.net.
Depending on how php connects to the filemaker server, this should be possible - or not.
If php connects to filemaker like the "fmp iwp home page", there is only one site possible, the first one. Your websites must look like www.server.com/site1, www.server.com/site2, www.server.com/site3.
If php connects to filemaker via a mechanism similar to ODBC, then you should be able to make as many php-websites that use filemaker as you want. Your sites can look like www.site1.com, www.site2.com, www.site3.com.
In both cases the number of your filemaker databases is unlimited (oops, yes, the server has a limit of 125).
You have to test this for yourself, sorry *1).
