      Title

FM Server 9 Adv and Windows 2008 Server (IIS 7) compatibility

      Your post

Have been using the FMS9Adv on Server 2003 for quite a while without any issues. Currently, migrating all the servers to VMware and would like to install FMS9Adv on Server 2008 (running IIS 7) (Single machine install).

IIS 7 is up and running fine (Anonymous access is enabled), FMS9Adv deployment is able to locate the IIS and finishes the setup successfully. however, when connecting to the webpage, only IIS7 page is being displaye. If I enter the entire address http://fMServer.../fmi/iwp/iwp_auth.html, I only see the Filemaker border and no fields for username and password.

Called Filemaker support and was told that FMS9Adv should work on Server 2008 (32-bit). Am i missing somnething?

          Thank you for your post.

FileMaker Server 9 was neither tested nor certified with Windows Server 2008 (nor IIS 7).  However, it may still work.

Try replacing the server address with the IP Address.  That is:

          http://<IP Address>/fmi/iwp/iwp_auth.html

          Also, try:

          http://<IP Address>

Any other information you can provide may be helpful.

            Thanks TSGal,

Tried that too with the same issue. The Filemaker banner and logo is being displayed but the  Username and password fields are not. Though it might be the Java version (run-time version 5 comes with FMS9Adv) and the IIS7 compatibility, so i tried to update to the most recent version of Java runtime and it made the issue worse, not i can't even run the admin console.

So i am just going to copy the existing server (Windows Server 2003) to the VMWare  and down the road when we plan on upgrading to the latest version of Filemaker Server, I will switch it to Windows2008 server
