FMP Server on OSX Server
I think this is a simple question, though so far I've had no luck finding the answer.
If I install FMP server on a machine running OSX Server --- is it necessary to always have a user logged in at the console for the database to be "Served" ?
That is, does the FMP Server software have to run as a GUI application, with a logged-in user?
Or can it run the way Oracle or MySQL do - as a background server process, coming online at startup?
Failing that, I see that FMP 10 client can keep its data on a MySQL server -- so could I configure my OSX server with MySQL, and just have the FMP10 clients connect to it remotely (WITHOUT an FMP installation on the server) ?
FileMaker Server runs daemonized - eg: without a GUI and not requiring a user to be logged in on the server machine.
