Title

FMSA 11.0.3.309 TNS:Listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA

Your post

     Hi All

FMSA 11.0.309 on 2008R2 win server

I am trying to get an ODBC connection to an Oracle DB working. I want to add the Oracle  table to an existing FM file.

I have the ODBC connection to the Oracle DB configured in the ODBC Administrator (32 Bit).  It is also configured in the 64 ODBC admin.  I have checked the registry setting pointing to the TNS_ADMIN file on a network share - both in HKLM\Software and HKLM\Wow6432Node.

The ODBC connection works on the Windows server if I use an FM file not hosted on the FM server, but when I try to run a hosted file, I get the error :

ODBC Error : [Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-12504:TNS:Listener was not given the SERVICE_NAME in CONNECT_DATA

I have also added the TNSNAMES.ORA file C:\app\USER_Defined_inODBC\product\11.2.0\client_1\NETWORK\ADMIN. Same error.

     Any thoughts?

     Thanks

     -Dan
