Thank you for your post.
You can only Save a Copy from a single user session.
The Remote Administrator password is encrypted and secure, and it cannot be accessed outside of FileMaker Server. One (extreme) solution is to reformat the hard drive and reinstall FileMaker Server 5.5.
Thank you for the reply.
I know I can make a copy from a single user session, however how can I get to a single user session if I can't get into the Remote Administrator to dismount the shared file?
Can you get physical access to the server machine instead of remote access?
If you can, you should be able to shut down the service manually. (We do that frequently with our current 5.5 server)
Once you've done that, you can open the file directly with filemaker pro.
Yes, I can do that. Thank you SO much for that.
It has been so long since I have started or stopped the service. Do I need to do anything when I restart it, or will it just find the files in the sub-folders and share them?
As long as you keep all your files in their original location, you can simply restart your service.
Awesome! Thanks a lot!!
