Nevermind, my brain got back on track, found it.
For others looking at this thread, it would be useful if you post your solution, even when you solve your own problem.
Brain farts are universal.
Sorry, will do.
You need to open the database while not being served from the server. In File>Sharing>Filemaker Network, there is a check box "Don't display in Open Remote File dialog." Then share the file on the server and it will not display in the open remote list.
Hope this helps anyone searching as long as I did.
Didn't there used to be a way of hiding them, by putting a certain 'string' in the filename itself? Am sure I used to do that to certain files back when I was using FMP6 and 7... Not tried it (and can't remember the 'rules' for this) since going over to FMP9 and 10.
Just wondering, hehe
If I'm not mistaken, it used to be done by putting an underscore in front of the file name but that behavior has changed since FM 7 or 8.
Hmmm, that rings a bell now you mention it....
I don't really need to hide anything anymore, as that behaviour can be acheived a few different ways, within FMP itself now.
Is nice to reminisce on the 'old days' sometimes, but i'm glad things have moved on! Hehe
