Title

ODBC connection in MS-Access interpreting text fields as memo fields

Your post

Greetings, I have a FMPro(v11) database which is being hosted in FMPro Server (v11). The fields in the database are mostly "text". I am using ODBC to connect to the FMPro database using MS-Access to generate queries of the FMPro data. The linked table in MS-Access (i.e. the link to a table in the FMPro database) shows most of the fields as "memo", but when I look at the table directly in the FMPro database (i.e. using FMPro to open the database) I see they are all "text". The problem is that I cannot link "memo" fields to other non-memo fields in MS-Access, and I am not able to alter the field type in MS-Access (because it is a linked table).

Has anyone esperienced this issue? Does anyone have any ideas I could try to convince MS-Access that the fields are "text" and not "memo"?

Thanks!
