      PHP - Persistent Connection?

      Your post

         Hello,

I have been trying to wrap my head around this for a while now. We have a very complex FileMaker solution in FM11. Using FMSA 11 to host out the database, we are trying to create a lighter version of IWP because our layouts tend to have hundreds of fields a piece, which slows down draw speed and can look a bit ugly there. In using the CWP engine via PHP, I have noticed a few quirks - global fields cannot be kept between page loads, and if a field is not on a the currently selected layout then it cannot be modified, proper relationship or not. So, my question is, is there a documented or recommended way to say run a login script and keep the connection persistent between page loads, until either a logout or timeout occurs? I realize the web is a "stateless" environment, but with technologies such as AJAX out there I am hoping something similar to IWP can be achieved...Thanks!
