Although there is always a possibility of file-damage and/or corruption, the 8x databases should convert nicely to the current version (v13)
We have had some minor problems with graphics that might be used as buttons, beside of this, the db's were working fine
The newer a FM database version, the more strict are data-types handeled.. I'm not sure when this happened (might be from 6 to seven...), but do (or let do..) a check with one of the analyzing software available
This said, there are many new methods, added over the years - and those methods will not be added automatically...
As we're in the server section: Server AND clients have to be upgraded.. Server 8 has to be removed and the server 13 has to be installed (no 'update')
