      Upload to FileMaker Server Fails

      Your post

We have been able to upload files to FileMaker Server from FM13 for months and all of a sudden a few weeks it ago we can no longer upload files.  When we click on Share and Upload Files to FileMaker Server - we click on the server address, enter our username and password and then get an error message - "Connection Failed".  Please help.

               Thank you for the post.

A couple factors could be the cause of the "Connection Failed" error:

               1. Either port 5003 or 443 is blocked from the client machine to the server.

               2. The Web Server status in the Admin Console will display a "grey dot" (disabled) instead of a green checkmark.

The Web Server and ports 5003 and 443 are used for the upload process.

Lastly, a few knowledge base articles for others who may encounter this thread in search of an answer:

Please let me know if any of the above requires further clarification.

                 1.  The ports are not block

                 2.  We don't see a Web Server status in the Admin Console.  (see attached screenshot)

                 3.  We tried to upload the files manually by putting them into the directory - can't add the fmsadmin group to the permissions file.
