I know it is not nice to answer by an answer but...
- What version of the client ? FMP 14.0.2 ?
- Do you have plug-ins installed ? If so did you try deactivating them temporarily ?
- Is the container object set as interactive (i know it wasn't possible until v12 but maybe you modified it after conversion) ?
I used a client 13v9 on the same machine and FMPA 14.0.2 and FMPA 13v5 from my Mac remote, both stalled.
I do have plugin's installed, Mailit/24 Dialog/BaseElements, tried to remove them but that did not seem to make a difference.
Tried it another time remote from my Mac using FMPA 13v5 and managed to upload a 600kb image in 1:20 so it seems to work but it looks like it is waiting a long time to start uploading the file to the server.
The container is set to normal, not interactive.
Strange... maybe a FMS installation issue. I would proceed by elimination :
If you try to host a copy of the file using the client "A" and FileMaker Pro 14.0v2 and do another try remotely accessing from a Client "B".
Does the issue still occur ?
No, I tried to upload the file to my FMS 14 server on Mac and there the import just goes fine, if I open the file
local it just goes fine, but not on the Windows 2008 machine :-(
FMS14 specs states "Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition" the minimum version of 2008 that is compatible with FMS14. Does your Windows 2008 meet this requirement. If not then I suggestion installing Windows updates.
And i assume it is a R2 SP1 as required on FileMaker specifications sheet ?
Note : my previous suggestion was to share the file differently, mainly to rule out a networking problem. And i am not sure you got me right since you are talking to access the file locally whereas i wanted to test a FileMaker Pro sharing.
I did Fred,
I put it on my own FM 14 Yosemite server and that worked fine, so I tried it both local on my Mac and the Windows server and that worked fine too. But not through the Windows 2008 FM 14 server.
I have to check about the specs of the server, but the administrator said that it was fine for FMS 14.
