The default port for MySQL is 3306. Not sure where you got 4443 from.
PHPMyAdmin is PHP files, can you also connect that to MySQL? using what settings?
Thanks Mike ,
My Server Administrator gave me the url to access the mysql server via port 4443 .
I have tried port 3306 also since i read that that is the default port ... cant connect to ODBC via that port ( I think the default setting is changed )
The PHPmyadmin console is setup to create and manage mysql databases on a Linux VM on the server. I am not sure of what the settings are ( since I didnt create it ) but I am able to create databases and tables etc using the URL from WAN.
Just that I want to add Mysql as External Source and the DSN is not being setup ... as I mentioned above . I tried contacting the Actual Tech Support , but havent got a response yet ...
I just got a response from Actual ... They also point out that the port 3306 is to be used as it exposes the correct protocol rather than the web services using 4443 ..
I will try it out ... and ask the server admin to address the issue
I doubt it's a problem with the actual drivers, more likely it's your settings. I would chat with your server administrator to see why the default port to the MySQL server's IP seems to be blocked.
