No version of FM is supported in Windows 10. I assume Windows 10 may be added to FMP14 in the future but, that is no guarantee that FMI will.
I have not read many post about major issues with FM and Windows 10, I don't recall any user using FM12.

If you are upgrading to the latest version of Windows, you should also upgrade to the latest version of the FileMaker Platform
But wait until FileMaker release an update for compatibility.
Do you mean that, till now, no user can use Filemaker on Windows 10?!
Why does Filemaker always neglect Windows and Android users despite being a significant part of their users?
not sure about 12 but I've been using FM 13 and FM 14 on windows 10 without any issues since the beginning of the summer.
I know it's never a 100% sure thing, but if your software worked fine on 8.1, there's a good chance it will work flawlessly on 10.
But in any case I wouldn't recommend using 12.0v1. As far as I remember it had some nasty printing bugs on windows and also some portal filters issues. Just make sure you update to 12.0v4 and you should be fine
Thank You very much for reading and answering!
Times are changing... we got a new OS every 12 months - and this is IMHO the main issue, nobody can maintain a third party software (concerning OS, every software is 'third party') within 12 months, it's not just the OS - it's also other's software (MS, Adobe, Citrix, VMWare, etc) that can affect - and we all want new features all the time (means maintaining is one pair of shoes, adding features another...)
Therefore I would be very happy if there are _other_ answers than
'Products listed below have not been tested with Windows 10, and are not supported when used with Windows 10. These products were developed and released before Windows 10 became available.'
FileMaker 13 was the current version a few months ago - and there are still some issues with V14 according to these boards. For private users, installing a new version (ie V14) is not a big deal - but in a company, it can be a problem because of older hardware that is not capable to run the recommended OS (V14 requires Mavericks and newer..)
You are saying absolutely correct mschneider,
I'm working in a company, same older hardware that Win XP3, FileMaker 12v1.
But what to do, I can't do anything! Whatever they provide, I need to prove my best in that, isn't it?
You can use Windows 10 but If there is a issue then FMI does not provide support. FMI usually does not fix issue with prior old versions of FM to work with new OS, so any version prior to FM14 will most likely never be supported in Window 10. I'm guessing that there will be an upgrade in FM14 so it will be supported in Windows 10.
I'm using FileMaker 12.0v1
As an aside, make sure to update the latest 12 v version (v5 / v9)
I viewed the link about El Capitan and there were links at the bottom of the page that had the following links.
I'd like to put this to the next level...
- I'm preparing 'my session' (FMGo) for the FileMaker Konferenz, next week
- I got a section in that session that shows how important it is, to use all of the methods to make FMGo _faster_
- I prepared an example that shows how one can speed up FileMaker Go up to THREE times
- FMGo 14.03 came out, iOS 9.01 is out...
-> The speed difference is GONE, the 'fast' method is about 50% faster, no longer 2-300%
I really would like to know WHAT was changed in 14.03. maybe the v14.03 resolves several issues (ie crashes..)
