I want to automatically create different letters with filemaker. The letter template is a print layout with 10 pages length (maximum length of a letter is expected to be 10 pages). The layout contains dynamic and static text fields which all shrink to fit to avoid whitespaces. The shortest letter is two pages, the longest 10 pages long.
Problem: When I create a PDF from the layout, each PDF is 10 pages long. Even if the content is only two pages, I get eight empty ones (just with page number) in my pdf.
How can I avoid the empty pages? Auto Resizing the Body? Delete the blank pages after producing the PDF?
okay... After reading more and more I think I found my solution:
"You can set layout parts to shrink when the fields in them slide up. Headers, footers, title headers, and title footers never shrink or slide up. Don't set a part to shrink on a layout that requires fixed vertical spacing, like labels."
That seems to work sometimes...
