I'm new to In FileMaker Pro version 12 and I figured out a round-about-way to create a new table from an Excel spreadsheet that contains a single row with hundreds of cells that I want to load into the database/table as fields. I used the "converting an existing file" from the FileMaker Pro Quick Start window and selected the "First row option" of "Field names".
Above kinda' did what I wanted to, I think, as now I have a database (table?) with those fields; everything seems to be property of TEXT.
Is there a better way, in version 12, to do this and also perhaps in the Excel sheet to say which field is what type?
